Better Now Than Ever

We've recently been informed of our trip approval, as you may already know seeing as how I'm behind everyone else on blogging about it. But, the days keep counting down, and our departure date comes closer, and closer, every single day. It’s almost still too difficult for me to believe, I’m really going to Cornell this summer. I mean, it’s Cornell. We’ve been given one of the best opportunities of our lives, and I still can’t believe it. With this recent approval, it makes everything seem just a bit more realistic. But, I won’t fully believe it until I’m on a plane, on my way to probably the best experience of my life. I’m grateful, to all of those who put in long hours of work so that all of this can be possible for us, without all of you, we would be nowhere. We wouldn’t have these opportunities. This time, specifically to our WCCUSD School Board Members, I thank all of you, sincerely for approving our trip.

  1. Too often in life people can't fathom that something positive is actually going to happen in their life. They have no confidence in what people are saying or doing. I know that it can be hard to believe, but the Ivy League Connection is the "real deal". We do not make false promises or intentionally let people down.

We work hard to create opportunities for students who show a commitment to our philosophy. I can see from reading your post that you are now a true believer and are paying close attention to what is taking place with the program. Yes, you can believe and feel the excitement. You are one of our best and brightest and now you get a chance to prove on a larger scale.

The Hotel Operations and Profitability Course will be one of the most interesting and challenging classes that you will take while you are in High School. What an opportunity. Remember you have earned the right to be on this stage. You went through the most rigorous of interviews. Now is the time to soak it all in and celebrate the moment.

The school board acted to support this trip because they believe in its mission and understand and appreciate that you and your colleagues are willing to be true ambassadors for the district. You were not just picked out of a crowd. No, you were selected because you exhibited the maturity and talent to do well in this challenging, but rewarding program.

We, at the Ivy League Connection, tip our hats to you and the others. Yes, the days are counting down and we can't wait until you step off that plane in Syracuse knowing that you will have the best three weeks of your life.

Hope all is well and I look forward to seeing your colleagues at the Hercules City Council on Tuesday.

    Take care.
